What do you offer?

My work is light and airy, and I gravitate towards capturing the people at weddings. Finding beauty in the mundane and quiet moments of a wedding. A blend between fine art photography, with a candid twist.

Weddings are about the people. I want to tell THEIR love stories, no matter how they identify.

Why do you want to work with the LGBTQ+ community?

Growing up as a bisexual man in a straight-passing relationship was often misconstrued by others - I was told I was confused with my sexuality, or that I was greedy, or that I couldn't possibly be queer. I am proud of my sexuality, and my place within this industry. I want to create a safe space for couples who have been on similar journeys. I want the love and passion in my work to shine through. I just want to photograph people in love and tell their stories.

Allyship

Very early on in my business, I made the effort to remove gendered language from my website, my brochures, my questionnaires etc. I see so many suppliers still sending out questionnaires with the terms "bridal prep" on it, and that's where I knew I wanted to be the change. I use terms such as morning preparations, to be inclusive. I want to break the norm that suppliers expect couples to have certain things on their wedding day just because of their gender.

Where possible I try to only attend workshops ran by people in the LGBTQ industry, to support them and learn in a safe space. I have also attended inclusivity & language photography workshops too.

I am not the most perfect LGBTQ+ ally there is, but I am trying my damn hardest to be better and always allow space to grow as a person and as a business. Those values mean everything to me and keep me striving to always do better.
