Why do you want to work with the LGBTQ+ community?

As a queer black woman I have really struggled to see myself represented in the wedding industry. Weddings and other big life events should be a time of joy and excitement, and the worry or threat of homophobia, transhopbia or racism should not be a part of the process. With me, you can feel fully relaxed in the knowledge that I won't tolerate any form of discrimination or perpetuate it. I will celebrate you in your fullness! And we can craft your story together and reflect all the joys of queer love!

Allyship

In my job as a lecturer specialising in inclusivity within mental health, I have been privileged with being part of overhauling the curriculum and ensuring that the content is anti-discriminatory.

In previous roles I have worked with LGBTQ+ young people and adults and delivered therapy. I also have been a LGBTQ+ rep and worked to make universities and healthcare more inclusive. I am a mentor for a LGBTQ+ organisation - a role I absolutely LOVE.

I actively challenge my own biases and work towards being as inclusive as possible e.g., not assuming gender, asking about pronouns, not presuming someone's sexuality etc. I will always strive towards making the world a more equitable place, with the hope that we will get to a point where people are accepted and celebrated for who they are.

People of all types are truly welcome here and I am beyond excited to be part of their special moment.
