What do you offer?

I create ceremonies where Queer love of all kinds is centred. Where Poly love and family is recognised and celebrated; and where alternative lifestyle ceremonies are understood.

Why do you want to work with the LGBTQ+ community?

I am a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community. They are my tribe, and my whole purpose for setting up my business weas to ensure than everyone, especially the Queer community could see themselves and their life and their love, relationships and identities represented on their most important days.

Allyship

Professionally, I've had a career in Diversity and Inclusion in some form or another for 25 years. I specialise in LGBTQ+ and relationship diversity training, outside of my career and business as a celebrant. As a celebrant I centre queer (of all flavours - not just the palatable mainstream version of a what a "good" LGBTQ+ person should "be or look like") relationships and identities - it's the whole point of the business, to put us front and centre.

I offer free naming and identity affirmation ceremonies to Trans incl Enby folks across the UK because it's the right thing to do and it's a way I can use my skills to uplift and support someone. I always will. And where they can afford my services, I ask them to donate the cost of the ceremony as it would've been to Mermaids or another Trans charity of their choice.

I am vocal on my platform about the rights and visibility of the LGBTQ+ community, and use my professional networks, both corporate and also in the celebrant world to raise the profile and awareness of the LGBTQ+ community. I also support local groups and initiatives local to me wherever and whenever I can.

I don't consider myself an Ally per se (that's for others to say someone is) - I am a member of the Queer+ family and family lift up family. I also take time and space to listen by learning as the landscape of language and understanding shifts.
